These photos showcase the fight for climate justice from Marrakesh to Toronto. Seas are rising. Our atmosphere grows thick with greenhouse gases. In these unsure times, we can see that certain groups are disproportionately affected by the climate crisis. Specifically, we see women, those with disability, and people of colour hurting the most. This is heavily exacerbated in areas where colonialism has taken its toll to be (which, who are we kidding, is everywhere). While there are many communities already feeling the effects of the global temperature rising first hand, soon our increasingly hostile climate will not allow room for discrimination. All will be impacted. In these photos I aim to highlight the integrity and resilience shown by youth around the globe speaking up. They demand that progressive changes can, and must, be made if we are to prevent the further deterioration of the natural systems that tie this planet together. As climate anxiety and general apathy run rampant among my peers, it is incredibly humbling to photograph some of the bravest people I have ever met demanding change and championing it. Let these photos be a call to action. Climate justice now.
